Readers will submit pictures of their pets with a $15 donation to The Tennessee Newspaper In Education Group, an official 501(c)(3), which supports NIE programs at The Tennessean, The Daily News Journal and The Leaf-Chronicle.
During the voting period, readers will vote on their favorite pet with $1 donations to the NIE program. Voting will take place in two rounds. The top 30 pets from round one will move onto round two. Votes will not carry over from round one into round two.
The pet with the most votes after round two will become our Pet of the Year and will be awarded a $750 VISA gift card. The second place pet will win a $250 VISA gift card and the third place pet will win a $100 Target gift card. All three pets will be featured in the newspaper.
