How does the contest work?
Readers will submit pictures of their pets with a $15 donation to The Tennessee Newspaper In Education Group, an official 501(c)(3), which supports NIE programs at The Tennessean, The Daily News Journal, and The Leaf-Chronicle..

During the voting period, readers will vote on their favorite pet with $1 donations to the NIE program. The top 30 pets from Round One will move on to Round Two. Votes will not carry over from Round One into Round Two.

The pet with the most votes in Round Two will become our Pet of the Year and will win a $750 VISA gift card. The pet will also be featured in all three newspapers.
